Fiona was a real person I found to be true and if I have given her some pleasure so late in her life, I feel happy. We met on the internet so I knew the score, she gave me her age and her disposition too, that she was widowed and felt so blue. I immediately felt empathy for her and at first just went along, just talking to her about everyday things and the like.
But our conversations became so regular and friendly I felt I just wanted to meet her.
“But I am in my mid fifties, Peter, and you are only 28, it would not seem proper.”
I explained that I had no devious intentions, that I just wanted to meet the woman at the other end of the line, she lived in the next town so that would be fine.
“Well if that’s alright with you, Peter, I would love to.”
So we made it a date, She would meet me outside Debenham’s store in Torquay and “I tell you what, Fiona, let’s have a dinner out, would you like that?”
She went for it and when we met it seemed like magic, that we had known each other for a lifetime. Had we both lived and met before in another place, another time? We had such wonderful conversations to share and soon found we had so much in common.
