Stacy opened her eyes, determined to kill whatever was buzzing with extreme prejudice, but first had to figure out where she was. Blearily she sat up, counting the bodies under the sheet with her in bed. Two. So far so good except that this was neither her bedroom nor Bill’s and both of the bodies in bed with her were male. Oh! They were at Dale and Grace's still!One important question answered; now where was that buzzing coming from?It sounded very familiar…Phone!
Sliding out of the bed, she quickly found Bill’s phone still in the holster on his belt, but not before the buzzing stopped.
“Shit,” she muttered then looked at the screen. Thirty missed calls?All from Jay.
“Oh God,” she said stabbing the speed dial for Jay.
“Dad?”
“It’s Stacy, Jay, what’s wrong?”
“Yannie, I mean Janice is here and…” she could hear the choking noise in his throat.
“Jay, calm down, what’s wrong?”
“It’s mom. She’s dead.”
Oh God. “Hold on, I’m getting your father.” She knelt by the bed and shook Bill. “Bill? Sweetheart, wake up.”
“Mmmph.”
“Bill, it's Jay. You need to talk to him right now.”
“What? Jay?” he took the phone, sleep still in his voice. “Son? Is there something wrong?” Stacy could just barely hear Jay on the other end, but she knew he was crying. “Oh dear God,” Bill said, looking like he’d been punched. “Janice is there?Why didn’t anyone call? What?”
